What do you want help with?

Right now, you are wondering if hypnosis can help you - and the answer is a definite "Yes"!

By bringing about beneficial changes to problems which have their origins in the mind, Hypnosis has helped many patients with:-

Fears and Phobias

Afraid of spiders, of heights, of flying, or of going to the dentist? Hypnosis can help you overcome these fears. Also with sitting exams and the driving test, meeting people, speaking in public and panic attacks.

  Stress, Anxiety and Depression

Hypnosis is very good for calming nerves and for boosting confidence in general. Those who suffer from anxiety or stress about themselves, relationships or work benefit especially. It also helps with clinical depression and stress related ailments.

Stop Smoking and other Addictions

Hypnosis is well known as a single-session cure for smoking, but also can help you break other habits such as gambling, drugs, drinking too much, comfort eating, shopping and more. It can strengthen willpower to overcome OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) behaviour.

  Weight Control, Anorexia and Bulimia

Can't loose weight, or just put it all back on again? The problem is not in eating or exercise but in the mind. Hypnosis can help control weight through healthy eating. It also can be used to overcome the problems that underlie disorders of not eating, binge eating and vomiting.

Pain Relief

Before the discovery of anaesthetics in 1847, hypnosis was used to relieve pain in surgery. Nowadays it is increasingly used in dentistry, childbirth and cancer treatment because it has none of the side-effects connected to use of drugs.

  Sport and Business Performance

Do you want to be better, work harder, be more focused and achieve more? Hypnosis can break down the mental barriers that hold us back from achieving full potential and help maintain the essential focus.

People will often only consider hypnosis after they have tried everything else they can think of, spent lots of money, and had to put up with their condition for longer than they need to. There is no need to do this.

Hypnosis can help you to achieve the results that you want.  Today!

So, how long will it take?

At Bothwell Hypnotherapy we treat patients - not conditions. In their first session every patient has their individual needs assessed and is then treated accordingly. After only two or three one-hour treatment sessions most of our patients see an improvement, and a decision can then be made about any further treatment.

As a general rule, therapy treatment with Hypnosis is relatively brief, and one ethical aim of clinical practitioners is to keep the number of sessions to a necessary minimum. There are conditions where full treatment can sometime be accomplished in one session - stopping smoking is a good example of this.

However, when dealing with the mind, what appears as a "simple" problem may be the result of much deeper difficulty where full treatment may need to span a greater number of sessions.

Is it guaranteed to work?

Hypnotherapy has a very good success rate but it is not ethical to give guarantees, so beware of anyone that does, or offers such things as bulk discounts or refunds!

Every person has a unique psychological make-up and much depends upon levels of motivation and commitment to change. Having said that, a skilled Hypnotherapist will be able to create the required atmosphere of cooperation, which is the prerequisite to a beneficial outcome.

It is also quite unethical for a practitioner to state how long an individual will require treatment without first taking a full case history on which to base a diagnosis. Progress will depend as much on what the individual achieves in daily life between therapy sessions as it does on the work that takes place in the sessions. A good therapist will outline a treatment plan, timescale and costs with you beforehand.

Costs

The fees at the Bothwell Hypnotherapy Practice are per session. Typical therapy sessions last about an hour, although the initial session often takes longer due to taking a full case history.

Most courses of treatment would require two or more sessions about a week to ten days apart. Evening sessions can be arranged, as can home visits for the elderly and housebound.
